Lakers and Clippers Go HD, Get Ready for 2011 NBA All-Star Game

As reported by CBS Los Angeles, Lakers and Clippers games just got a fresh new look in the form of a brand new Panasonic HD scoreboard. Lakers guard Sasha Vujacic and Clippers forward Craig Smith were on hand for the unveiling.

“…the venue will unveil a brand new LIVE 4HD Scoreboard designed exclusively for STAPLES Center by Panasonic…the one-of-a- kind comprehensive 8-screen arena scoreboard will include what is believed to be one of the largest indoor center-hung High Definition scoreboard video screen installation in the world.”

Staples Center has finally caught up with the times. I mean, HD has only been out for what? Three or four years now? The new scoreboard might have something to do with the fact that the Lakers and Clippers will be hosting the 2011 NBA All-Star game .  Anyhow, check out the video and let me know what you think.

Boy am I glad they had a Staples “Easy Button” on hand otherwise I don’t think these pro athletes would have figured out how to activate the scoreboard. Also, not everyone knows this but Vujacic lost a rock-paper-scissors game to Shannon Brown and had to show up for this event.
